Days, this position will float between Occupational Health and Singing Hills/Urgent Care Clinic as needed.
Position Purpose:
Under direct supervision, the Lab/X-Ray Tech is responsible for performing radiologic procedures as scheduled by physicians and for conducting routine lab tests used in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
What you will Do:
Receives, collects, identifies, and labels specimens. Draws blood from patient for blood lab tests.Conducts tests for evaluating individual health problems.Charts results of lab done in-house into the patient's chart. Maintains logbook in lab.Records lab tests sent to referral lab in log book; prepares specimen for shipment, records results when test is returned on patient's chart, place on doctor's desk for review.Maintains logbook for pathology tissues sent to referral lab.Cleans and sterilizes laboratory equipment, glassware, and instruments. Cleans work area. Performs quality control and maintenance.Prepares solutions, reagents, and stains. Orders supplies as necessary.Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.Insures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.Logs radiologic procedures completed. Processes routine paper work. Types and files reports as requested.Develops and processes radiologic film. Orders film and other supplies as necessary.Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduation required. Associate degree with courses in chemistry, biology, or related fields. Completion of course in radiologic technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Laboratory experience preferred. Completion of clinic laboratory training within six months of taking this position.Limited license for radiology required. Is able to communicate effectively with all members of the health care team.Is able to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change.Position Highlights and Benefits
