Start your new career as a Rail Yard Assistant with MAU at South Carolina Ports Authority in Charleston, SC. As a Rail Yard Assistant, you will assist with the movement, organization, and inspection of railcars within a rail yard. Their duties ensure the smooth operation of loading, unloading, and dispatching railcars. This position requires availability every Saturday only.

Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, and climb in and around vehicles Capable of bending, lifting heavy equipment, and climbing two-story railcars Proficient in operating manual (stick shift) vehicles What You’ll Do as a Rail Yard Assistant: Open and close railcar doors Remove and secure wheel chocks and bridge plates Safely operate personal motor vehicles in tight spaces, relocating them to designated parking areas for shipment
