RAM / Test Engineer
Join our team as a RAM/Test Engineer at NUWC in Newport, RI, where you’ll play a key role in supporting the performance and readiness of advanced submarine systems. This position involves conducting detailed engineering analyses for Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES) on Columbia and Virginia Class Submarines, ensuring mission-critical reliability and availability goals are met. Essential Responsibilities: + Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) Engineering Analysis support to Columbia and Virginia Class Submarine Platforms, specifically Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES) + Calculate reliability and availability predictions based on government furnished information + Determine provisioning and on-board spare hardware quantities required for each NPES system to meet or exceed mission requirements + Advanced experience in MS Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint Minimum Requirements: + Active Secret US Government Security Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret clearance. + Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science. + Two (2) or more years' of experience in Reliability Engineering or with Submarine Naval Systems. Preferred Qualifications: + Five years of experience in Reliability Engineering or Submarine Naval Systems. + Experience in reliability and availability prediction models such as TIGER, RAM-db, SIMLOX or OPUS to determine if proposed Columbia and Virginia Class hardware and software designs comply with the Systems and Reliability Specifications.
