JOB SUMMARY

The Range Master and Training Officer will develop and deploy training techniques, including active shooter trainings, and firing range operational procedures in both the classroom environment as well as live fire ranges.  Will possess expert knowledge of firearm safety, selection, and maintenance.  Will work in both the classroom environment and in the field, working with small or large groups. Ensures safety during for all training venues and exercises. Will handle weapons and ammunition in the course of their duties. Exposure to high volumes of noise and expelled gun-powder is expected. Frequent travel may be necessary. The incumbent will train police officers in pistol and rifle  scenarios.  In addition, force on force training scenarios and exercises will be developed.   Will also involve active shooter training to employees across the enterprise in tabletop and functional exercises. 


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the firing range and plan, coordinate, conduct, supervises weapons qualifications and training for the enterprise.Prepares a complete lesson plan for all areas of instruction; obtains all tutorials, equipment, handouts, visual aids and schedules classroom or other appropriate space or facility necessary for class presentations. Will train all HMK Health Police officers on Force on Force training and curriculum.Develop, deploy, and provide Active Shooting Training across the enterprise through classroom instruction, table top exercises, and functional and full scale exercises. Provides overall security assessments at all enterprise locations, as assigned and necessary. Presents material in lesson plans; administers and monitors test materials; grade and evaluates test results; assigns projects to students; and counsels’ students.Other duties as assigned or requested.

Required

Bachelors degree in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, Administration of Justice or related filed

EXPERIENCE


Required

5 years with commonly associated firing range exercises and/or drills3 years as a Range Master, must have been earned as part of other federal, state, or local government training assignments3 years of writing new curriculum with firearms instruction and active shooter 3 years of extensive classroom teaching experience tainting sworn officers 3 years of teaching active shooter preparedness classes to employees  or schools3 years of site specific security assessments and planning 


Preferred

3 years with Force on Force training scenarios and Simulations
