Rapid Response Team Lead

Job Summary:
The Rapid Response Team Lead is a critical role focusing on leading a specialized team tasked with swiftly addressing and managing IT-related incidents and projects within a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. The ideal candidate will bring a robust educational background in information systems, computer sciences, business management, or a related field, coupled with substantial experience as a Lead Project Manager. This position demands exceptional self-management, team management, decision-making under pressure, and the ability to oversee project budgets effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead a rapid response team, managing and executing IT projects and incident responses within the DoD environment with agility and precision.

Employ expert managerial and leadership skills to direct and support team members in high-pressure situations.

Plan, implement, and track rapid response initiatives, ensuring they are completed within established parameters of time, scope, and budget.

Oversee project financials, including budgeting, tracking, and reporting, to ensure fiscal responsibility and transparency.

Make critical decisions swiftly to mitigate risks and resolve issues, maintaining project momentum and integrity.

Maintain active TS/SCI Clearance and ensure all team activities comply with DoD regulations.

Articulate complex project details and rapid response outcomes to stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Promote a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and collaborative teamwork within the rapid response team.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer sciences, business management, or a related field is required.

A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Lead Project Manager.

At least 3 years of experience in a DoD IT environment.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is required.

Security Clearance:

Must possess an active TS/SCI Clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively, particularly in rapid response or crisis situations.

Proficient in managing project budgets and financial reporting.

Capable of making sound decisions quickly and under pressure.

Mastery of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.

Outstanding communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and persuasively.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at once.

Work Environment:
This position will be primarily on-site at the Pentagon Reservation. The Rapid Response Team Lead is expected to work within secure facilities and adhere to all security protocols associated with the environment. Opportunity to work from home may be available but is not guaranteed and is subject to the requirements of the role and the discretion of management. Due to the nature of the position and its responsibilities, the role may involve responding to urgent issues outside of standard working hours and requires a high degree of responsiveness and flexibility.
