The Rations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the food storage (dry and cold) warehouse in support of the Ascension Base Dining Facility, including receiving, managing inventory, and distributing food supplies, ensuring proper handling and quality control, while supervising staff and coordinating with other departments to maintain adequate food availability for distribution. Position is located on Ascension Island. Responsibilities Major Job Activities: + Supervise warehouse staff, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow; to meet the dining facility (DFAC) requirements and support the mission of the AAAF in accordance with the performance work statement. + Ensure proper receipt, storage, inventory, and security of all subsistence delivered to the DFAC. + Rotate stock to ensure first-in, first-out (FIFO) principles are followed, including temperature control and pest management. + Maintain excellent verbal and written communications with the front and back of house Supervisors and DFAC Manager. + Ensure all employees are following all established Safety Policies and Regulations + Responsible for completing required reports and ensuring the Warehouse operates within allocated financial parameters while maintaining quality standards. + Responsible for communicating and upholding company standards, leading by example, working as a team to provide professional food services. + Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas. + Responsible for ensuring precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet. + Performs other duties and assignments as required. Material & Equipment Directly Used: + Computer, Cell Phone, Vehicle, MHE, and other office equipment. + May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE-ex: gas mask, steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, etc.) as needed. Working Environment: + Working conditions will change between environmentally controlled office and storage activities exposed to outside environment. Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs. Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions. Task specific work environment training will be provided as required. Must be prepared to function in a wartime environment to support U. S. interests. 100% Overseas Assignment. Physical Activities: + Medium work. May include lifting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Climbing, extended sitting, and standing, stooping, stretching or bending. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: + Must have a current, valid Passport, Driver’s License and have ability to obtain any visa required + Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently. + Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc. + Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN) Education / Certifications: + Must have a High School diploma or equivalent, associate degree preferred + Must have and maintain a current Serve-Safe certification + Must have and maintain a current 5k or 10K forklift certification Experience / Skills: + Three (3) years of related work experience in food warehousing storage procedures for perishable and non-perishable items. + one (1) year of management and leadership experience + Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse, dynamic team + Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment + Must be knowledgeable in Tri-Service Food Code, DAFMAN 34-131, AFMAN 48-147, and FDA Food Code, Food Service Program Management Armed Forces Recipe System, inventory control, HACCP, and the U.S Department of Health and Human Services Food Code standards. + Familiar with manual and automated supply accounting systems, policies and procedures. + Must be able to work under pressure. + Service oriented. Supervisory / Budget Responsibilities: + The Rations Supervisor is regularly monitoring and maintaining stock levels of food rations to prevent shortages or overstocking. Performing physical inventory checks and reconciling with records. Ordering new rations based on projected needs and consumption rates.
