If you’re hungry to build a varied and meaningful career in a community of brilliant and diverse minds to make a real difference, there’s only one choice.** **RB Chem Analyst III** **YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES** The primary responsibilities of the RB Chem Analyst III is to: + Perform routine chemical analyses using a wide variety of wet chemistry and instrumentation analysis as directed by a Supervisor or sub-supervisor. + Instrumentation analyses may include: pH, Conductivity, UV-Vis, Viscosity, Flame Atomic Absorption, Melting Point, Specific Rotation, Karl Fischer, FTIR, Osmolality, and TOC; + Wet chemistry analyses may include: TLC, ID testing, Bulk Gas Testing, Manual (Acid- Base, Complexiometric, Redox) Titrations, Common Gravimetric Tests (Insoluble Matter, Loss on Drying, Residue on Ignition), Limit Test, Heavy Metals, Arsenic, Specific Gravity, Potentiometric Titrations, and Glass testing; + Calculate results using pre-defined computer programs or calculators andenter data on detailed test records and in computer database; + Perform reagent preparation and standardization of volumetric solutions; + Perform routine calibration of lab instruments and cleaning of lab equipment; + Receive and log samples inLIMS, and report testing results in SAP. Peer review of test results may be required; + Other related duties as assigned. **WHO YOU ARE** Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our life values, more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required qualifications: + Requires two (2) years college-level coursework in Chemistry, including: Inorganic and Organic Chemistry and/or Biochemistry, and a minimum of one (1) year applicable analytical chemistry experience working in pharmaceutical, clinical, and/or Quality Control environment, OR; + An equivalent combination of education and experience Additional Requirements: + Read, write, speak, and comprehend English in order to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, SOP’s, etc; + Acceptable attendance and performance; + Work weekends, holidays and overtime as required; + Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team; + Work independently and self-directed with minimal supervision; + Detail oriented with the ability to demonstrate good record keeping practices and ability to follow data integrity rules; + Strong computer skills required – including familiarities with lab management systems such as LIMS and Mobile Data Acquisition System (MODA); + Experience and competency with USP, EP, JP, ACS, FCCcompendia/monographs; + SAP (or similar software) strongly preferred. Physical Requirements: + Occasional lifting – up to 25 pounds; + Must be able to work safely in an environment containing hazardous chemicals, high and low temperature liquids, high pressure liquids and gasses, steam, and moving machinery. • Must be able to withstand frequent repetitive movement and sitting; + Must be able to wear protective clothing (PPE) as required; + Must not have unusual sensitivity to typicallab chemicals or gloves (i.e. sanitizing agents); + Must be able to pass an eye exam – includes testing for: near vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; + Must meet Occupational Demands/Physical Requirement checklist; + Hepatitis B vaccine recommended Employees can expect to be paid a salary of $39.76 per hour. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
