Reagent Technician - Lewisville, TX - Sunday - Thursday 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM

The Reagent Technician is responsible for timely preparation of high quality laboratory reagents for use in technical areas, as well as dispensing and mixing chemicals.  Complies with established quality control procedures and assists with the monthly inventory and ensures that supplies are ordered on a timely basis.  The incumbent actively supports and complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures. 

Pay Range: $24.50+ per hour

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Prepare reagents for use in technical departments according to established procedures. Perform daily instrument calibration duties.  Transport and exchange compressed gas cylinders for use in the technical departments as directed. Assist with the maintenance of the department’s computer protocols and the placement of reagent orders. Comply fully with established quality control procedures. Ensure that chemicals, reagents and supplies are delivered to the technical departments on a timely basis, so that tests are not delayed. Adhere to all established laboratory safety requirements. Use (a) personal protective equipment, (b) engineering controls and/or (c) work practice controls as directed by management. Perform other ancillary duties as assigned by a competent authority. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Work Experience:  

1 year of progressively responsible laboratory experience.

Physical and Mental Requirements:  

Long periods of standing  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and use material handling equipment to move large containers of products 

Knowledge: 

Basic theoretical and operational job knowledge necessary to perform assigned tasks. Familiarity with laboratory apparatus and equipment. 

Skills:  

Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with Quest Diagnostics employees and clients. Attention to detail. Ability to follow procedures. Good verbal communication skills 


EDUCATION
Associates Degree
High School Diploma or Equivalent(Required)
