Real Estate Accountant II
Description We are in search of a Real Estate Accountant II to be a part of our clients team based in Omaha, Nebraska. This role is primarily involved in the real estate industry and will be responsible for processing and maintaining financial records, as well as resolving related inquiries. This role provides an exciting opportunity for those looking to further their career in accounting within the real estate sector. Responsibilities: • Efficiently process and maintain internal and external escrows for insurance, real estate taxes, and annual analysis of monthly payments due from properties. • Oversee and lead the preparation of state sales and use tax returns, and stay updated on changes in sales/use tax laws. • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger as required. • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes. • Review and approve parent company invoices in procure to pay. • Prepare monthly trend income statements and consolidated financials for management. • Oversee annual report filing, domain renewal, and various estimated tax filing. • Assist in updating the annual calendar for real estate entities to ensure no due dates or deadlines are missed. • Develop, maintain, and utilize standard operating procedures and work instructions. • Prepare quarterly board report and cash analysis. • Design and maintain spreadsheets for various projects. • Document and organize accounting records in an effective and efficient manner. Requirements • Candidate must possess at least 3 years of experience in a real estate accounting role or a related field. • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is mandatory. • Must be skilled in performing bank reconciliations and maintaining the general ledger. • Experience with journal entries and month-end close procedures is required. • Familiarity with financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP is essential. • The candidate must possess strong financial analysis skills. • Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements is a must. • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills are desired. • The candidate should be detail-oriented, with a strong ability to multitask. • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is crucial. • Must be able to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.
