Rebates Accountant
Overview

A leading retailer is seeking an Accountant who is experienced in Rebates to join their team in Cape Town.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the rebates department to ensure that the rebates are processed according to the contractual agreement in place.

Key Responsibilities:

Keep an eye on the Trial Balance for each trading account on the DC. Keep an eye on the manual billing procedure and talk to the appropriate Authority about unpaid billings. Monitor and protect all contracts and agreements with vendors. Carry out month-end procedures to make sure refund general ledger accounts are categorized and accounted for correctly at the end of the month. Take care of vendor accounts for customers with unpaid balances. Verify the new vendor bundle against internal standards procedures. Answer ad hoc questions from internal and external auditors during financial reporting. Generate yearly data for the Trading Term Template to be used in the Trade Term Talks negotiations. Assure timely and accurate processing of contractual billing. Keep track of all processed contractual billings.

Requirements:

Degree in Finance Minimum 4 – 5 years’ experience in Financial Accounting Knowledge of Rebates Retail Experience (Advantageous) . SAP Compliant (Essential)
