This individual is responsible for performing a variety of inspections.
Must be capable of using a wide variety of mechanical measurement devices such as, but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, torque and internal clearance gages, hardness testers, etc. as required for the inspections being performed. Must be capable of setting or verifying proper the setting of various mechanical measurement devices with master standards as required for the inspections being performed. Must be capable of using various computer-aided measurement devices such as, but not limited to, vision systems, surface finish analyzers, roundness gages, etc. as required for the inspections being performed. Must be able to keep appropriate quality records of product manufacturing and inspection processes, including conformity, as required by supervisor or procedure. Must be able to scan, verify, and retrieve quality records from electronic storage locations and databases. This includes the organization, review and preparation of manufacturing routers for scanning and the subsequent organization of hard copies for retention in quality files Must be able to search for drawings and other specifications required for determining compliance to requirements. Must be able to compare metallurgical, mechanical, and chemical properties requirements in material and heat treat specifications against actual reported results on mill certificates to determine product conformity. This individual must be able handle a fast-paced high-pressure environment to accommodate production and customer deadlines. This individual must keep their work area(s) in a neat and clean fashion and will move parts from one department to another as necessary.
