Receiving Lead
Location: Bensenville, IL Schedule: Tuesday through Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Status: Full Time (Exempt) Compensation: $45,000 $300 Sign-on Bonus After Completion of the 90-day Probationary Period Summary/Objective: The Receiving Lead assists the Receiving Manager in handling the daily operations of the Receiving Department. This individual ensures that all Receiving Associates and Coordinators follow the Standard Operating Procedures to identify, count, stock, and receive products into the system. The Receiving Lead is responsible for oversight of the PO auditing team, generating performance reports, and working closely with the Purchasing, Product Development, Returns, and Inventory Department. Leadership and Guidance: + Assist the Receiving Supervisor/Manager in providing guidance and leadership to the Receiving Associates and Coordinators. + Prepare daily workloads and assign daily tasks to the Receiving associates and coordinators. + Regularly create reports, review, and provide feedback on daily incoming shipments and associates’ productivity. Shipment Management: + Oversee incoming shipments and their allocation within the department to be staged for sorting and counting. + Manage the unloading, unpacking, sorting, palletizing, and stocking of every inbound shipment upon receipt. + Report shortages, damages, and defective or questionable products to the supervisor or Department Manager. Ensure that all such information is updated in systems and presented to the proper departments. Departmental Oversight: + Conduct regular walks and reviews of the department throughout assigned shifts to ensure that all shipments, packages, and materials contain the proper identifying markers and documentation. + Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure priority shipments are assigned, processed, counted, received, and stocked accordingly. + Assist in the timely completion of all new product counting, stocking, and receiving according to established processes. Communication and Coordination: + Ensure that all communications and guidelines from the Purchasing team are executed accordingly. + Lead all receiving associates and coordinators and closely monitor their work to ensure incoming shipments are handled appropriately and timely. + Monitor and investigate inventory error emails and adjust the purchase orders accordingly. Collaboration and Problem-Solving: + Collaborate with other departments to research and resolve any issues related to inbound shipments/purchase orders. + Regularly observe and ensure Receiving Associates and Coordinators follow all established company policies and procedures. + Complete incoming product inspection, confirmation of the certificate of conformance, and reconciliation of receiving/purchase documentation. Data Entry and Reporting: + Enter invoices into the accounting system and complete daily receiving entries and purchase orders in the inventory management system. + Create and distribute useful reports using Excel and available reporting systems. + Track the status of goods and materials using the inventory control system. Maintenance and Safety: + Conduct reviews of and maintain the accuracy of departmental supplies and assets. Assist in weekly supply ordering. + Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations. Customer Engagement and Support: + Coordinate with customer service to provide high-touch service to clients, ensuring their needs and inquiries about incoming shipments are addressed promptly. + Actively participate in promoting products to customers by understanding their needs and suggesting relevant items. + Ensure consistent follow-ups with clients post-delivery to gather feedback and address any concerns. Sales Support and Shipping Coordination: + Work closely with the sales team to support their efforts in increasing sales by providing timely updates on stock availability and shipment status. + Collaborate with the shipping department to ensure seamless processing and delivery of products to customers. Work Environment: This job operates in a warehouse environment where the noise level can be loud. The employee is frequently exposed to fast-moving carts and employees throughout the warehouse. Every employee must respect others by not swearing or playing loud music that could disturb others. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Tuesday through Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Travel: No travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience: A minimum of HS Diploma or GED and one year of factory- or warehouse-related experience in shipping and receiving. Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and use simple math. Must have intermediate computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and knowledge of Google‐based programs such as Google Sheets/Docs. Preferred Education and Experience: + Associate's degree + Experience in operating forklifts + A minimum of one year of supervisory experience + Experience with inventory management systems and e-commerce platforms Additional Eligibility Qualifications: None Work Authorization: Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
