Job Title: Receiving Material Handler 1st Shift
Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Receiving Material Handler for the 1st Shift who can efficiently manage the unloading and staging of inbound merchandise. The ideal candidate will operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and handheld scanners while ensuring quality and productivity standards are met.

ResponsibilitiesUnload merchandise using a forklift, pallet jack, or by hand.Stage inbound merchandise in the scanning area.Verify pallet count and sign the freight bill of lading.Operate a handheld scanner.Identify and sort merchandise by department.Place the correct receiving label on the product.Restack and wrap products to prepare them for transport and stocking.Communicate any overages, shortages, and/or damages to the Supervisor.Deliver scanned merchandise to appropriate staging areas throughout the warehouse.Meet quality and productivity standards.Take direction from the Supervisor.Maintain excellent attendance and reliability.Adhere to DC housekeeping guidelines.Essential SkillsProficient in operating forklifts, RF scanners, and pallet jacks.Experience with material handling and inventory management.Ability to unload and manage shipments efficiently.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Good comprehension, organizational, and math skills.Ability to interact effectively with other departments and all levels of management.Excellent attendance record.Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma preferred.Commitment to high safety standards and compliance with safety policies.Ability to work overtime when needed.Team player with a positive attitude.Power Equipment certification is a plus.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

You will work in a dynamic warehouse environment utilizing a range of equipment including forklifts and handheld scanners. The role requires adherence to safety and housekeeping guidelines. Overtime work may be necessary. Employees are expected to maintain an excellent attendance record and demonstrate reliability.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rome, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
