Location: Morrisville, NY Category: Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation Posted On: Tue Oct 1 2024 Job Description: RECEIVING SUPERVISOR REPORTS TO: Dining Services Manager DEPARTMENT: Dining Services CLASSIFICATION: Hourly | GRADE: 8 | SALARY: $16.38/HR. | SUPERVISES: FS II & FS Students The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for the general cleanliness and maintenance of the building, assigned grounds, storage areas, and associated equipment and is the lead in the dish room. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS + Receives and checks incoming stock for accuracy of amount and quality using vendors' invoice and departmental receiving order + Follows receiving procedures to ensure food safety guidelines are being adhered to, i.e. temperature, packaging, date range, etc. + When necessary, assists in loading and unloading of all trucks + Participates in assigned cleaning and maintenance of storage areas, coolers, and freezers to ensure they are kept in a neat and orderly condition. Assures that proper procedures are followed + Unpack supplies, dates and stores all stock in proper storage area. Rotates stock, using first in/first out principle to ensure freshness + Delivers equipment, food items, and supplies to various locations using a box truck + Assists as directed with performing inventory + Does minor repairs as necessary + Assists with setups for minor functions + Assists where needed to cover absences and breaks for other employees + Communicates daily with management concerning general unit conditions or concerns + Must attend food safety training as scheduled + Works with management to develop and follow cleaning schedule and preventative maintenance schedule for the operation and equipment + Helps to train staff in dish room operations and acts as a leader in this area when not receiving. This includes dish machine and garbage disposal + Assists in snow removal around loading dock, dumpster and other areas around the building as necessary + Responsible for minor repairs such as changing lightbulbs + Perform other duties as assigned Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE + High School graduate or equivalent; Previous janitorial or maintenance experience is required; Experience in supervising and instructing personnel; Follow written and verbal instructions; Ability to operate all machinery and equipment necessary to the job; Must be able to multi-task. Must possess a valid driver's license. QUALITIES + Ability to effectively communicate with vendors and faculty + Strong attention to detail + Able to work independently and as part of a team + Take initiative, anticipate, prioritize, and follow tasks through to completion + Successfully operate within deadlines, use creative problem-solving skills, and evaluate and adjust when necessary + Adhere to Company, Department and State guidelines as directed + Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately + Predictable and reliable attendance + Strong customer service skills are a must PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND DEMANDS + Moderate to heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds; constant standing, bending and walking; exposure to temperature extremes, slippery surfaces, and congested work areas; exposure to many different food types.
