About our Company:

Commonwealth Underwriters (part of Monarch E&S a division of SPG Insurance Solutions) is a rapidly growing, and successful P&C insurance wholesaler and managing general agency based in Richmond VA. We sell exclusively to retail agencies across the country with a focus on small to mid-market E&S commercial and specialty personal lines risks.

About the Position:

The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent customer service skills and serve as a technical resource to a large and growing commercial lines underwriting/brokerage team.  Successful applicants will work with the in-house broker to request and review underwriting information for processing of endorsements, preparation of quotes and processing bind orders.

Responsibilities:

Opens reception area and office by 8:30 am each day and closes reception area at the end of the day

Maintains reception area and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner at all times

First point of contact for on-site visitors (including deliveries): welcomes, determines nature of business, and announces to appropriate personnel

Presents a friendly, professional demeanor at all times

Logs incoming new business submissions for Underwriters in a timely manner

Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purposes of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or departments in a friendly and professional manner

Performs backup support to other administrative areas, including but not limited to Loss Runs

Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, collating, and printing, making appointments for all staff or for specific employees, such as executives

Handles overnight deliveries and all incoming mail

Maintains confidentiality in matters pertaining to management

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High School diploma required

Previous work experience in customer service, with a successful track record

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite

Proactive, independent work ethic with strong problem solving and analytical skills

Willingness to be flexible, learn on the job, and maintain a can-do attitude.

Ability to work in dynamic environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide

range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions.

Must be highly organized and Self-motivated and goal oriented.

This position is located in Richmond Va.

Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $15-$17 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
