Receptionist Long Term Care
Job Summary

Provides assistance and support to visitors, staff, & residents in person and over the phone. Performs a variety of clerical job functions.

Essential Functions

Under minimal direction, transfers incoming calls to the appropriate locations, assists with the placement of outgoing calls, pages staff both overhead and through pagers, handles resident information inquiries and provides assistance to callers and visitors in a tactful, cheerful and professional manner.

Monitors lobby for resident and guest safety.

Greets visitors, guests, new residents and transporters and directs to appropriate unit.

Accepts and logs room and board payments, visitor meal payments, special activities fees, etc.

Assists potential new customers with pre-tour paperwork; locates staff to give tour; works with Admissions to ensure that Facility brochure is available at all times. Greets and directs transportation services and new residents upon arrival. Assists outside vendors for the delivery of O2, UPS, vendor deliveries, etc.

Responds to all emergency situations and evaluates situation for severity and appropriate notification of management personnel.

Notifies appropriate nursing station when a wandering patient attempts to leave through the front door or has a significant need for assistance.

Responsible for ‘opening/closing’ duties as required by shift.

Distributes incoming mail as needed and forwards resident mail in a timely manner.

Maintains workroom and lobby in an orderly manner. Monitors office equipment to ensure functionality. Makes service calls to vendors on an as needed basis. Maintains sufficient stock of forms and office supplies and orders as needed. Maintains reference binders/materials in a professional, organized manner.

Processes daily census in a timely manner (day shift only).

Carries out clerical duties assigned by Administrator or his/her designee. Assists with projects (i.e., copying, assistance with monthly invoices, building of resident surveys, brochures, pamphlets, etc.) from other departments that can be accomplished in a professional manner with minimal disruption of regular daily tasks.

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent

1 year of relevant experience
