Reconcilement Accounting Supervisor
Reconcilement Accounting Supervisor The Assistant Manager of Reconcilement Accounting is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Reconcilement Analysts by assisting the Reconcilement Manager with supervising and reviewing the analyst’s daily and recurring processing and performing review and approval of certain monthly aging reports and reconciliations. The position is also responsible for performing assigned accounting functions required to support internal stakeholders, including reviewing General Ledger entries and related activity. Additionally, this position will assist with problem resolution and escalation for complex production issues within an operational business unit. Position Responsibilities: Reconcilement Production * Supervise team of Reconcilement Analysts while prioritizing and reviewing reconciliation responsibilities to ensure productivity standards and customer service levels are met and work is completed timely and accurately. * Actively partner with key internal stakeholders for obtaining an in-depth expertise on transactional business process flows to ensure Reconcilement team maintains a robust understanding of accounting transactions impacting reconcilement processes. * Oversee the weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly aging reporting processes ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and the escalation of stale and out-of-standard transactions as necessary. * Lead team participation in projects impacting business unit with ability to document procedural changes to department processes, while ensuring adequate testing is completed. * Devise and execute cross-training plan to ensure appropriate coverage. Compliance and Risk Management * Ensure internal controls are performed on daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual processes. * Maintain a strong comprehension of key operational risks and significant regulations that apply to the Reconcilement team, with a functional understanding of banking and financial services industry processes and accounting implications. * Proactively recommend changes to operational processes and drive those to completion to contribute to a continuous improvement environment. * Liaise with Reconcilement Manager (primary contact for internal and external auditors) to ensure proper information is maintained for auditing purposes and participates in internal and external audits as necessary. Reconcilement Systems and Process Excellence * Lead effort to automate manual reconcilements through effective use of available tools and systems. * Proactively identify and evaluate opportunities to create operational efficiencies. * Contribute to savings idea generation, process improvement initiatives, and accounting support projects. Human Capital Management * Motivate and evaluate the team of Reconcilement Analysts directly reporting to the Assistant Manager – Reconcilement Accounting. * Plan, assign, and supervise work of Reconcilement Analysts.
