JOB SUMMARY\n

The Records Clerk is responsible for clerical functions of a specialized nature in order to maintain the official departmental records of the Conroe Police Department. Duties follow well-established guidelines, methods and procedures.\n

QUALIFICATIONS\n

Education and Experience:\n

Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent required. \n

Special Requirements:\n

Must type 40 wpm with 90% accuracy. Must pass written general knowledge and spelling exam. Possession of a valid class \"C\" Texas driver's license required. \n

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: \n\nKnowledge of basic computer skills.\nSkill in customer service.\nAbility to listen, comprehend and apply information received.\nAbility to understand rules and confidentiality.\nAbility to communicate verbally and in writing using the English language.\nAbility to work several consecutive hours in an office environment without the use of tobacco products.\nAbility to climb stairs while carrying file box.\n\n

PHYSICAL DEMANDS\n

The work is sedentary and requires the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and\/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: climbing, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.\n
