Job Summary:
The Recovery Coach is responsible to works as an integral part of the Center team. Recovery Coach will perform non-clinical supportive services to individuals in or seeking recovery that walks through the Center doors. Duties include but is not limited to the following: embrace members in the Center and support them while there are identifying needs that led to build their recovery capital. Recovery Coach will collect minimum information, but enough to build recovery capital to members, such as housing application, probation support, resume building, social security, DTA and many others supports. This position may require a flexible schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in developing and implementing community activities that support and promote recovery. Demonstrate competency in relapse prevention strategies. Provide membership program orientation services, and requirements. Conduct confidential, quality supports that are gender and culturally responsive, and trauma informed. Assist with the Development of individualized plan with each assigned recoveree to build recovery capital. If applicable to role within the Recovery Coach, meet, collaborate, coordinate support services and attend appointments with recoverees for probation, parole, employment and educational agencies, Department of Children and Families (DCF), human services providers, medical and primary care, clinical mental/behavioral health, family support, etc. Link recoverees to services provided by community-based organizations such as peer support groups, legal services, nutritional counseling, and HIV rapid retesting and Hepatitis B and C testing. Provide recoveree education in finances, housing stability, behavioral and primary health, life skills and all aspects of addiction and related life domains. Provide crisis intervention by assessing severity of the episode, de-escalating the recoveree, referring to emergency response team as needed, and developing a safety plan to assist in resolving the crisis. Exemplify recovery principles and set an example that recovery is attainable. Perform program recordkeeping and filing, and organize vital documents. Provide telephone coverage for the assigned program and direct calls to other programs as needed. Participate in required supervisions staff meetings and trainings. Participate and cooperate in any investigations conducted by internal and external agencies. Ability to use a computer including inputting information into data systems.Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED, reasonable exceptions may be made in certain situations. Must have lived experience and 2 years acknowledged continuous sobriety Experience and knowledge regarding the addiction treatment service system. Must have successfully participated in recovery coach academy Eligible to be a certified recovery coach Experience with adults diagnosed with a substance use disorder
