Recovery Coach (CCBHC)

General Statement of Duties:  The Peer Recovery Support Specialist/Recovery Coach will provide services for persons served with mental health and substance use needs, within the Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC).

 

Responsibilities:

The Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) will work in partnership with all individuals who may benefit from recovery support services. The PRSS will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, navigator, and motivator to individuals in or seeking recovery to promote recovery planning and goal realizations, which may include reductions in harm from substance use and sustaining long-term recovery. The PRSS must demonstrate an ability to facilitate recovery planning that follows diverse recovery pathways (including medication and moderation), consciously share personal recovery experiences as appropriate, develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships, and understand and respect for each individual’s unique path to recovery.Perform duties consistent with agency/program policies and procedures.Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards. Universal/standard precautions must be utilized and training obtained in areas that constitute risk.Perform other related work duties as needed or as required by supervisor or designee.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.Must be a Certified Addiction Recovery Coach. 
Must possess a valid drivers license in state of residence.

Skills and knowledge required: 

A personal history of recovery and a sound understanding of and commitment to the consumer-led recovery movement.Good listening and communication skills.Knowledge of mental health system, including comfort in dealing with both traditional and non-traditional providersPreference given to candidates with fluency in languages prevalent in Southeastern MA.
