Recovery Coach - OPTIONS Program

Recovery Coach- OPTIONS Program: Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Recovery Coach is responsible for providing non-clinical, peer support to individuals in recovery, or seeking recovery from a substance use disorder, including opioid use disorder, and to help people stay engaged in their recovery with the goal to reduce the likelihood of recurrence. This position works as part of the OPTIONS Liaison\/Co-Responder team that provide Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), Substance Use Disorder (SUD) overdose response and follow up throughout Androscoggin County, in collaboration with local law enforcement, and other first responder agencies.\n

DUTIES:\n\nMeets regularly with assigned individuals to support their recovery needs and goals. \nIn collaboration with agency and community providers, assists individuals in accessing needed services and resources. \nHelps address barriers to independence and recovery. \nProvides support services that are person-centered and include education, support, and motivation. \nAssists participants in exploring risks and benefits of choices and understanding possible outcomes of decisions while maintaining mutual respect. \nUses a strengths-based approach that respects and understands all pathways to recovery. \nMaintains the participants' records according to program and agency policies and procedures, including but not limited to daily documentation\n\n

QUALIFICATIONS:\n

High School diploma or equivalent certification required. Completion of Recovery Coach Academy training distributed by the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR), or must complete within 9 months of employment. Duties require knowledge of Substance Use Disorders (SUD), Behavioral Health, and Co-Occurring treatment services, and at least three years of related experience. The Recovery Coach must maintain a current driver's license and a clean driving record as outlined in Spurwink's Driving policy.\n
