An exciting role has become available for a Recovery Coordinator within our Intensive Support Team. The Intensive Support Team sits within our Severe Multiple Disadvantage (SMD) Programme, offering high level support for those that have additional barriers in accessing services. 

 

As a Recovery Coordinator, you will take a holistic approach in supporting people in their recovery from substance use. As part of the Intensive Support Team, your job will be to work with people to identify how we can support them better, and what we can do to create ‘equity’ in accessing support. The New Project is a multi-agency approach which aligns with Birmingham’s Vision and Strategy for Adult Social Care, prioritising prevention, early intervention, and long-term wellbeing.

 

 

 

Location: Birmingham

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Full time Salary Range: £27,449.53 - £31,529.41 Dependent on experience (pro rata for part time hours)

Responsibilities

As a Recovery Coordinator with Change Grow Live, you’ll be at the heart of a dedicated Intensive Support Team, working alongside Trident and St Basils to provide wraparound support to individuals with multiple and complex needs. These may include substance misuse, mental health challenges, housing instability, and social isolation.

 

This is not your typical support role. You’ll be part of a dynamic, multi-agency team delivering intensive, personalised interventions that go beyond standard service provision. You’ll work closely with individuals referred by a panel, offering weekly structured support designed to build resilience, promote independence, and empower people to move forward in their lives.

 

About the Role:

 

Provide unwavering support to service users from their initial contact with our service throughout their treatment and recovery journey.Implement tailored interventions aimed at reducing the harm caused by opiate use, either through group sessions or one-on-one engagement.Ensure service users receive a comprehensive, recovery-focused detoxification plan, including pre-detox preparation and post-care support.Collaborate with other organisations and the community to enhance the recovery resources available to service users by referring them to mutual aid groups and other networks.Advocate for the involvement of family members, service users, and the community.Serve as a voice for service users in accessing partnership services.Work closely with service users to facilitate their social (re)integration, enabling them to lead fulfilling and purpose-driven lives. This includes promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.

About You:

Possess knowledge and experience in delivering interventions for service users affected by opiate use.Excel in both verbal and written communication, with proficient IT skills.Demonstrate proactive qualities, working independently with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.Hold a strong understanding of mental health interventions, services, and best practices.Thrive as a supportive team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with a diverse range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.Exhibit the ability to navigate change effectively, always prioritising the needs of service users.Recognise the significance of information governance processes and commit to adhering to all necessary safeguards.Pursue continuous learning opportunities to enhance your professional knowledge and skills, while also contributing to the growth and development of your colleagues.
