Career Opportunity – Recovery Foreman
Responsible and accountable for Recovery day-to-day activities, safety, environmental, and Management Operating System. This includes the Recovery Boilers, Evaporators, NCG system, and Recausticizing Plant.
Responsible that all employees understand and utilize all safety requirements of job functions; in addition to use all required PPE during job tasks. Position requires full knowledge of safetyrequirements and ensure compliance and accountability. Working knowledge all safety procedures (including LOTO, fall protection, confined space entry, hot work and JHA for each position, proper guarding, seat belts, dock locks, etc.). Employee must follow standard work procedures and safe work practices/procedures.

Support a safe work environment through daily contact and rounds with operators, weekly safety meetings, housekeeping focus, department safety teams, accident and near miss investigations, response to immediate shift issues.Understand environmental control systems and equipment. Ensure key parameters are monitored and responded to—to ensure zero reportable incidents.Use triggers in all areas to obtain additional help or resources (safety, environmental, equipment, process, people).Support training in all areas.Support operators in decision making/trouble- shooting process.Attend production meetings and communicate concerns, results, and liabilities to management team.Recognize and communicate outstanding effort, results of team members.Manage emergency equipment repairs on shift. Communicate future equipment issues for planned repairs and create work notificationsMonitor inventories and make decisions concerning decreasing or increasing production; shutting down or starting up equipment as needed.Ensure that departments are manned and that operators communicate between departments. Manage overtime and attendance on shift.Document shift activities including maintenance issues, production changes, call outs, and information directly impacting KPIs.Coordinate Recovery activities with other, on-shift leaders
What You need for success
5 years of experience with Recovery operations.Basic understanding of mechanical integrity of equipment and machinery.General understanding of mill wide operations and interdependency.Understanding the Smurfit WestRock Quality and Environmental Policies.Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization.Must be able to clearly define objectives and be effective in involving others in achieving those objectives.Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel) and SAP Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
