achieving individualized goals for successful community living The Recovery Support Specialist provides peer support which is a non clinical role and does not involve treatment assessment or evaluation activities The duties are centered on mutuality and sharing common recovery perspective and language with the client A Recovery Support Specialist is expected to act as coach and advocate promoting the program value of autonomy diversity and empowerment with the knowledge and ability to link client to community based supports and other resources Offer peer support to client both prior and subsequent to discharge They act as a Peer TransitionCommunity connector for the client and is part of a centralized programmatic service providing observations to treatment teamsSupport and guide client pursuing goals related to employment education community involvement and the use of natural supports Support clients to secure information about resources relevant to their wellness support clients in obtaining services that meet clients recovery needs supports clients in dealing with internal and external stress attends medicalclinical appointments with clients in a peer capacity
