SUMMARY
As a Recreation Aide I, your ability to plan and develop activities based on observations and communication with residents leads to a personalized and enjoyable experience for all.
LOCATION: Unity Living Center
DEPARTMENT: Therapeutic Recreation
SCHEDULE: Tuesday – Saturday 8am-4:30pm
ATTRIBUTES
Experience in the field of geriatrics or activity programming preferred, new graduates will be considered
Associates degree with a major in Therapeutic Recreation or Human Services is preferred.
High School Diploma required.
Strong analytical, computer and communication skills
Excellent leadership ability
RESPONSIBILITIES
Activity Development. Lead or co-lead therapeutic recreation programs according to monthly calendar and staffing schedule; formulate monthly recreation calendar, offering programs in accordance with resident needs and interests; maintain up to date records of resident’s attendance and participation in programs; invite and escort residents to programs
General Management. Perform daily/weekly/monthly duties of: newspaper, birthday and calendar deliveries; manage program/department spaces and equipment set up/clean up, etc.; purchase, maintain and gather equipment and supplies
Leadership. Train and supervise students and volunteers as appropriate; communicate with residents, staff, volunteers and family members

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

14611The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
