The Manager Recreation and Aquatics will develop and oversee all recreational, (children and adults), and aquatic programming. This position is responsible for the management of the day-to-day operations of the gymnasium, youth recreation programming, all aquatic areas and all programming associated with these areas. This position is part of the leadership team responsible for the performance of financial and business targets specific to sales and operations of the Medical Fitness Center.

Talent Pool: Allied Health

 

 Recruits, hires, trains, develops, counsels, and generally manages employees related to the Recreation and Aquatic Departments setting staff pace as a role model for all employees.
Attends weekly manager meeting and conducts regular department meetings.
Provides ongoing employee evaluations and training workshops for all staff focusing on safety, service, integration, and professional development.
Develops administers, supervises, and instructs a quality recreation and aquatics program available to all membership age groups and abilities.
Organizes and delivers an ongoing aquatics seminar/clinic program for professionals, staff, and membership.
Works directly with all Wellness corporate members to organize corporate activity days and corporate challenges.
Conducts daily mechanical inspections of pool equipment, including the pump room, ensuring all systems are operational and well-maintained. Works alongside the Facilities team and pool vendors to ensure that equipment is operating properly.
Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: parks, recreation, education, business administration, physical education, exercise science communication, leisure services, or other related field.

 

EXPERIENCE:Required: 2 years of professional experience working in a facility related to health club, recreation, education, business administration, health education, physical education.

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
American Red Cross Lifeguarding/automated external defibrillator (AED) and First Aid Certification Pool Operator?s Certification/License American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
