Summary Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); Naval Base Kitsap - Bangor. Responsibilities Greets patrons as they enter/exit the facility. Ensures all patrons are accounted for on the daily patron count log. Explains facility rules and policies to facility users. Responsible for conducting hourly checks of the facility to maintain order, ensure safety and encourage patrons to abide by established guidelines. Answers the telephone and provides the caller with necessary information concerning hours of operation, fees, eligibility, policy and upcoming programs. Takes messages and/or refers calls to other personnel when appropriate. Uses computer, telephone book, and other media to assist customers in search of information. Resolves complaints from patrons and solicits feedback to improve services provided. Promotes all programs related to Fleet and Family Readiness Department and maintains bulletin boards with current program information. Notifies supervisor of damaged equipment. Solicits and identifies desired recreational equipment from patrons. May be required to make minor repairs and clean equipment. Assists in maintaining a safe environment. May perform minor housekeeping duties to maintain facility orderliness and cleanliness as required to meet all health and safety inspection requirements to include but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, wiping tables, dusting, emptying trash, cleaning mirrors, etc. As required, will open or close the facility, maintain security of building, property and equipment. Reports all damage and vandalism to property or building immediately to supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be minimum of 18 years old. Must have a valid driver's license. Must successfully complete a background check and maintain eligibility for access to government systems. This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, stooping, walking, pushing, reaching, climbing and lifting of objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted. Qualifications Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience with handling cash and operating a cash register. Must have or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within 90 days of being hired. Must be able to operate a computer and have a basic knowledge of software packages such as Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer. Must be able to sort & file alpha numerically and perform basic mathematical computations. Must be proficient in verbal and written communication and be able to follow directions. Education A minimum of high-school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. Additional Information Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
