Recreation Assistant (Leisure Travel Agent)
Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Little Rock AFB, AR - Outdoor Recreation facility. This is a regular part time appointment position with 15 hours guaranteed but can be scheduled up to 20-34 hours a week. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities Performs the full range of travel agent and related functions for the Little Rock AFB ITT office: Provides assistance and information on commercial airline flights, rail passage, cruises, tours, sporting events, vacation packages, hotels, and car rentals to customers, both walk-ins and callers. Researches travel and tour issues and provides clear and accurate information to patrons. Coordinates leisure travel information and referral services for both individual and group customers. Informs customers of all pertinent travel and lodging polices, restrictions, and itineraries. Follows updated guidance provided. Qualifying Experience: Must have responsible experience in clerical, office, cash handling, or retail sales work of any kind which demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Experience must demonstrate knowledge of proper cash handling procedures, the ability to resolve common arithmetic problems used when receiving payment from customers, and the ability to operate a cash register or point of sale system. Must be able to read, write, and speak English and be able to communicate effectively. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
