Summary This position is located at: Ft. Responsibilities Executes range facility opening, closing, and operating procedures in accordance with installation, local, and federal laws. Maintains communications and follows instructions of the installation range control agency to ensure safe operations. Coordinates medical support through the installation range control agency. Instructs patrons on range safety practices, and provides general firearm and marksmanship information. Responsible for all safety issues in the operation of the range. Ensures proper handling storage, accountability, inventory of ammunition, and vault security. Issues ammunition and range related accessories to customers, checks ID, and collects fees. Checks inventory and supplies, and requests restock. Executes range facility opening, closing, and operating procedures. Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment. Monitor patrons for compliance with rules and safety and correct violations immediately. May perform cashier duties and maintain records of sales. Conducts facility and range maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualification Requirements are: Must have experience with firing range operations and firearm safety and possess work experience which involved dealing with the general public. May have cashier skills. Must be able to obtain current Installation Range Certification Card, National Rifle Association (NRA) Range Safety Officer Certification, or equivalent certification within 60 days of entrance on duty. Highly Qualified candidates will have the following: Possess experience with weapons handling, maintenance, and mechanics. Possess skeet rules, regulations, and scoring knowledge. Possess knowledge or experience with gun range operations. **Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
