We are looking for a candidate who delivers excellent customer service, demonstrates a dedication to excellence, displays unwavering professionalism, fosters teamwork through respect and effective communication skills, and finds innovative ways for improving processes. As our next Recreation Center Specialist, the candidate will assist with various important support functions such as: assisting citizens, scheduling reservations, maintaining records, processing invoices and deposits, creating newsletters, and much more. The ideal candidate must be able to multitask and prioritize duties. This position will work alongside supportive and fun colleagues who are focused on providing the best working environment and experience for the citizens and employees of Lee County. Duties and Responsibilities + Maintain and organizes files/records. + Handle customer service inquiries, prepare daily membership registrations, and deposit transactions. + Prepare correspondences and generate reports. + Update and maintain databases, and research data. + Clean restrooms, locker rooms, and general maintenance within the facility on a daily basis. + Process invoices and deposits. + Proficient in RecTrac. + Other duties as assigned. Education, Experience, Licensing + Requires any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED and one year of related experience with high-level clerical and/or technical duties such as filing, operating office equipment, customer inquiries, preparing correspondences, maintaining databases, and generating reports. + Prefer one year of experience within the Parks and Recreation industry. + First Aid and CPR Training required within 6 months of hire date or employment will end. + Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required. Supplemental Information + Must be able to prioritize, problem-solve, and multitask on a high-volume threshold of more than 30 transactions in an hour while providing excellent customer service. + Must be able to establish and maintain positive communication and effective working relationships with the public, co-workers, and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. + Must be able to operate general office equipment and be extremely knowledgeable of computer software programs. (MS Excel, Word, Publisher, Outlook) + Must be able to assess and resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints by exercising fair, reliable, objective, valid, and sound independent judgment. This requires using deductive reasoning and critical thinking while maintaining a polite, courteous demeanor. + Must be able to juggle a multi-line phone system and a two-way radio while utilizing in-house software to; enter, file and retrieve data in relation to memberships, class registration, roster reprints and financial reports. + Knowledgeable in basic mathematics and ability to perform cashier-type transactions maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. These transactions include but are not limited to; processing payments by credit card, cash, and checks, refunding and preforming financial deposit transactions. + Must be willing and able to perform basic janitorial duties inside of the recreation facility including but not limited to; vacuuming, cleaning public restrooms, taking out trash, setting up and breaking down tables and chairs for meetings and events with the ability to lift 25 Ibs. + The workdays and hours will vary to include early mornings, weekends, late evenings, and holidays.
