The Recreation Deputy Manager provides program planning and execution, labor, and supervision of contract labor to meet all recreation service requirements and support the mission of the AAAF. Provides recreation services to support all AAAF recreation service requirements, including the operation of company stores, the Armed Forces Network (AFN), a rescue boat recreation program, swimming pool operations, barber and hair stylist services, a base library (with commercial internet access), a base gym, movie theater services, and other recreational facilities. The Contractor shall ensure that recreation services are adequately staffed and supported by other functional areas, as required. Provides a monthly status report of each recreation activity identifying any improvement suggestions. Maintains and provides recommendations on how to improve recreation facilities, e.g., athletic fields, swimming pool, tennis courts, racquetball courts, etc. Ensures that MWR facilities and equipment are maintained to a high professional standard.

This position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X.
Responsibilities
Major Job Activities:
+ Responsible for the assisting in the overall organization, manning, and management of the Recreation Program.
+ Manages recreational and sports and fitness facilities for the Area Support Group.
+ Works with recreation managers and reviews PWS and local command requirements, determines their priorities, and establishes performance standards.
+ Identifies types of programs and services for the community in terms of recreational activities, aquatics, and sports and fitness.
+ Provides oversight of government furnished property of MWR facilities, sports facilities, and aquatics.
+ Recommends improvement or procurement of MWR equipment ranging from weight sets / machines, recreational games, audio visual equipment, etc.
+ Reviews and approves monthly sports calendars, action plans, MOI’s, risk assessments, activity budgets, and material requests for sports and special events for USG submission.
+ Assist in event development and marketing.
+ Manages a team of Other Country Nationals (OCN) that ensures MWR activities and PWS requirements are met to a quality standard.
+ Completes records and reports.
+ Performs other related duties incidental to the work described.
+ Trains and develops the key skills and abilities to assigned personnel.
+ Submits all recreation purchase requests to the COR, Det 2 and PMD at PSFB for review and approval.
+ Maintains a log of all vehicle usage to be available upon request to the COR.
+ Operates a base shuttle using bus and/or vans for select events as approved by the Det 2 CC.
+ Performs a quarterly inventory of all recreation equipment, purchases new or replacement recreation equipment IAW the Equipment Replacement Plan, and ensures life expectancies for recreation equipment items are documented in the five (5) year plan.
+ Complies with the Government’s water hazard safety policy on water entry and/or water recreation for their employees to mitigate the risk of accident or incident due to sharks, ocean currents, and other hazardous conditions present at AAAF.
Material & Equipment Directly Used:
+ Computer, cell phones, MWR audio and visual equipment, miscellaneous fitness, sports and recreational equipment.
Working Environment:
+ The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
+ Works in a general office and recreational, sports and fitness environment. However, duties will involve the conduct of work in the outdoors with a potential exposure to dust, noise etc.
+ Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain areas is required. Must comply with all Fire, Safety and Post policies.
+ Work may require heavy lifting up to 50lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where potential exposure to chemical / biological agents could exist (e.g. cleaning solutions, chlorine).
+ Must be able to work overtime or nights as required; to include, holidays.
Physical Activities:
+ Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
+ The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
Qualifications
Education / Certifications:
+ BA or BS degree preferred.
Experience:
+ The Recreation Manager shall have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in supervising and managing DoD recreation or club management operations, or eight (8) years of comparable civilian experience.
Skills:
+ Extensive interaction with a large customer base with the ability to handle complaints / feedbacks / suggestions, and work independently.
+ May be required to conduct personal training sessions and/or group fitness classes; when required to ensure compliance to the PWS.
+ Must be able to supervise and manage the activities of a multi-national and culturally diverse work force.
+ Fluent in spoken and written English.
+ Must possess excellent supervisory and management skills.
+ Proficient in intermediate level MS Office software applications such as Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
+ Need to be able to delegate work to subordinates according to the changing priorities of the USG and Customers.
+ Good organization and training skills are essential.
+ Possess strong problem-solving skills and should be able to maintain good relations with the USG and Customers by communicating effectively and building a rapport with them.
+ Flexible and have excellent interpersonal skills.
+ Handle multiple tasks at any time.
Supervisory / Budget Responsibilities:
+ Manages members of the Recreation staff.
+ May be required to develop programs on limited funds provided by the USG.
