Summary: The Community Music Center (CMC) has been helping people learn, make, and enjoy music for over 60 years in SE Portland. In East Portland, CMC partners with a group called the Center Powered by Y.O.U.T.H., which helps black and brown youth. The Multnomah Arts Center (MAC) is one of the largest centers in the U.S. for visual, performing, and literary arts and has been serving the community from its SW Portland location for almost 50 years. MAC also offers classes in East Portland to make arts education easier for people to access. Both CMC and MAC welcome anyone, no matter their age, background, or skill level, and are part of Portland Parks & Recreation's Arts, Culture and Special Events division.
