The Position
Job Appointment: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri. 9:30am - 5:30pm. This position may require occasional work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work Location: Multnomah Arts Center, 7688 SW Capital Hwy, Portland, OR 97219 and other locations throughout Portland based on Community Engagement program needs.

Position Summary:
The City of Portland’s Bureau of Parks and Recreation is currently accepting applications for the position of Recreation Leader – Arts Specialty at the Multnomah Arts Center. We are seeking a qualified candidate to support the MAC Community Engagement programs throughout the city, which focus on visual and performing arts education.
What you'll get to do:
+ Promote equity and inclusion in arts education by engaging with a broad range of individuals and communities with diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
+ Travel to various locations working with diverse populations in community settings (both indoors and outdoors) providing equitable access to arts education opportunities.
+ Work with partner organizations and the public to provide information, registration, and technological support, ensuring equitable access to arts programs.
+ Provide guidance and training to recreation support staff, instructors, and volunteers, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to support arts programs effectively.
+ Help develop, support, and maintain arts studios and performance spaces with partner organizations, ensuring they are safe, clean, and ready for use by instructors, students, and the public.
+ Perform administrative tasks such as registration, scheduling, communication, and technical support to ensure successful community engagement programs with community partners.
+ Lead community arts education programs and support arts instructors in varied community settings, ensuring participants of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels have a positive educational experience.

To Qualify
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
+ Knowledge of current trends, techniques and principles related to arts engagement and education.
+ Experience teaching a variety of art related and/or performing arts classes.
