Recreation Manager
**Purpose and Scope:** The Recreation Manager will oversee all recreation services on a military installation. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF). **Essential Responsibilities:** + Provide a monthly status report of each recreation activity. + Manage, direct and supervise a team of recreation personnel. + Maintain and provide recommendations on how to improve recreation facilities, e.g., athletic fields, swimming pool, tennis courts, racquetball courts, etc. + Submit all recreation purchase requests to the COR, Det 2 and PMD at PSFB for review and approval. + Establish a recreation vehicle check out / turn in policy. + Publish an inclusive schedule of the approved operating hours for all recreation activities. + Provide recreation services to support all AAAF recreation service requirements to include the operation of company stores, the armed forces network (AFN), a rescue boat recreation program, swimming pool operations, barber and hair stylist services, a base library (with commercial internet access), a base gym, movie theater services, and other recreational facilities. + Ensure life expectancies for recreation equipment items are documented in the five (5) year plan and shall update the 2-year replacement plan at least quarterly to ensure it is current. + Any other items as directed or as outlined in PWS + Maintain and provide recommendations on how to improve recreation facilities, e.g., athletic fields, swimming pool, tennis courts, racquetball courts, etc. **Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:** + Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in supervising and managing DoD recreation or club management operations or eight (8) years of comparable civilian experience. + High school diploma or equivalent. + Ability to read and write English is required. + Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location. + Must be a USN to fill this position. + Ability to exercise discretion and make effective decisions. + Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills. + Strong ability to work and lead as a member of a diverse, dynamic team. + Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment. + Possess a valid state issued driver’s license and passport. + Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment + Prior overseas government contracting experience preferred. **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** + Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies. + Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds. + Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. + Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. + Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions. + Ability to travel domestically and internationally. **OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES** **Safety** - Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
