By hiring talented individuals like you, we've been able to expand quickly, with offices in Albany, Buffalo, Syracuse, Orlando, Tennessee, Maryland, and Puerto Rico. Recreational Specialist   POSITION OVERVIEW:                                                                                                                         The Recreational Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading recreational activities and programs that promote physical, mental, and social well-being. Works with clients to develop realistic, individualized career goals which accurately reflect the client's professional skills and interest. This role will identify employment opportunities available for clients within the community and involves engaging participants in a variety of recreational activities, coordinating resources, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. Salary for the Recreational/Employment Specialist is $24.71 Hourly  KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:                                                                                                  Develop seasonal schedules and ensure activities align with organizational goals.Organize and oversee special events, and group outings.Collaborate with other departments or external organizations to enhance program offerings.Adapt activities to accommodate varying skill levels, ages, and abilities.Maintain attendance records, program evaluations, and participant feedback to assess the success of activities.Prepare and submit regular reports on program outcomes and resource utilization.Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and organizational policies during activities.Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by program schedules.Physical ability to set up and participate in recreational activities, including lifting equipment and being active during events.Performs other duties assigned by the Program Director or Director of Social ServicesProvide individual and group services to adults aimed at assisting them in achieving their educational and career goals.Provide coaching on resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace communication.Conduct workshops on job-search techniques, professional behavior, and time management.Maintaining collaborative and compliant documents that meets HPD and organizational expectations.Develop and maintain a wide range of community base resources to provide training, education and employment opportunities.Conduct initial assessment of educational and vocational needs to develop a preliminary plan of service in the area of vocational and educational goals.Evaluate individuals' abilities, interests, and goals using tests, records, interviews and professional sourcesMaintain a rotation case load of job seeking clients, provide individual consoling, and job readiness workshops.Meet job placement target.Ensure all HRA, SSI, and other requirements regarding employability and work readiness are met.Work closely with case managers, Housing Specialist, vocational counselors, and other staff to align employment services with overall client goals. REQUIREMENTS:                                                                                                                                   Two (2) years of relevant experience in job placementHigh school Diploma/GED required. Associates/BA Degree in related field preferredAbility to use business acumen to exercise good judgment and decision-makingAbility to deal with sensitive issues with diplomacy and discretionBilingual Spanish/English required *Acacia Network is an equal opportunity employer*
