ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Plan, organize and implement expressive therapy, leisure and social activities for patients to ensure that their needs are addressed.  Conduct sessions to improve patient mental and physical well-being, instruct patients in activities and techniques, such are sports, dance, music, art or relaxation techniques designed to meet their specific needs. Assess patient needs through observations, medical records, tests and discussions with other healthcare professionals, patient family and patient. Engage patients in therapeutic activities, such as exercise, games and community outings.

REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or other recreation-based field Three or more years' experience in recreation in a healthcare setting with knowledge of patient population served by the facility. Current NC LRT license Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to work well with male and female adult (18+)  patients with Chemical dependency and Mental Health disorders CPR and CPI certification (training offered onsite) Teamwork and excellent customer service Crisis Prevention and CPR certifications (offered on site)

PREFERRED:

Previous experience working as a Recreation Therapist in a healthcare setting CTRS certification
