Responsibilities Develops recreation therapy programs designed to meet the therapeutic needs of the residents in the following areas: socially, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually Ensures that activities are conducted with "safety first" at all times Program covers a broad range of recreation therapy activities including sports, nature study, therapeutic, and social activities Ensures that resident's therapeutic recreation needs are addressed as a part of treatment team Appropriate documentation is entered into resident's chart Performs recreational therapy assessments Develop new ideas and contribute to BVH recreational programs.  Provide high quality recreation therapy groups Acts as a resource to team members, participates in team and professional meetings and gives input as to needs of our residents Coordinate the activities or tasks of people, groups and/or organization(s) Deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism Observe physical conditions, behavior or surroundings for potential areas of concern or inappropriate activity
Qualifications Bachelors' degree in Recreational Therapy with a State of Utah license and National certification (e.g., TRS, CTRS) Familiarity with medical/psychological terminology, human behavior, and principles of psychology Willing to work flexible hours which includes traveling and evening/weekend events CPR Certification, required   Food Handlers Permit  Must have ability to work independently and be self-motivated, organize and prioritize work and assignments, meet deadlines, write reports, and communicate clearly.  Be creative, reliable, and flexible.  Work well with people of all ages, think clearly, and make appropriate decisions. Must have a Valid UT Driver's License
