Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Tennis Facilities at Wright-Patterson, AFB. Assists with or performs duties related to Tennis Club operations. Responsibilities Responsible for adhering to posted work schedule. Assists with or performs duties related to Tennis Club operations. Operates a cash register and collects money, safeguards and deposits fees collected from customers. Accepts reservations, provides routing information to employee log. Assists patrons in the Pro-Shop or with beverage sales. Keep track of inventory that needs to be replaced (i.e. snacks, drinks, tennis balls, equipment, and locker room supplies). Work with clients to adjust tension and string rackets. Fill beverage cooler, snacks and coffee station as needed. Ensures adequate supplies of clean towels and cold beverages are available for the next shift; and participates in monthly/yearly inventories. Performs minor cleaning of the work areas (i.e. counters, Pro-Shop, window/doors, customer counter, locker rooms), and maintenance tasks. Ensures the patrons follow safety rules. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Requires a practical knowledge of recreational activities, and of Tennis in particular. Must be able to use and perform minor maintenance on equipment, and assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the facility. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person and by telephone. Ability to learn how to string tennis rackets, determine the type of string to use, determine the best tension. The ability to learn how to mount the racket in a stringer and adjust the tension without going beyond the limit of the frame. Must satisfactorily complete a National Agency Inquiry (NACI) is required. Perform duties in a timely manner, IAW established rules, regulations and procedures. Follow established cash handling procedures. Adheres to, and ensures patrons adhere to safety rules and regulations. Deals with the public/patrons in courteous and tactful manner and maintain good working relations with co-workers. Demonstrated a willingness and ability to learn on-the-job. Performs related duties as assigned. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
