Recreational Manager

Key Responsibilities:
Oversight of Amenities and Programs
Manages daily operations of recreational amenities, including fitness, aquatics, tennis, racquetball, pool, spa, food & beverage, and related activities. Develops, implements, and evaluates innovative programming to engage residents and guests in fitness, aquatic, and racquet sports activities. Ensures all amenities operate at peak efficiency, delivering exceptional service and memorable experiences.
Activity and Program Development
Collaborates with key managers to create diverse and engaging events, classes, and programs tailored to the community's fitness, aquatic, and racquet sports interests. Introduces seasonal and themed programming to maximize participation and revenue. Partners with external vendors, instructors, and contractors to expand the variety of services and activities.
Operational Excellence
Monitors the care and maintenance of all fitness, aquatics, and racquet sports facilities, ensuring safety and functionality. Establishes and enforces policies and procedures for safe and efficient operations. Oversees staffing, including recruiting, training, and evaluating employees for fitness, aquatics, and racquet sports roles.
Financial Management
Prepares and monitors budgets, ensuring revenue goals and expense controls are met across all recreational departments. Conducts regular audits of program participation, product costs, and other financial metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
Communication and Leadership
Attends and leads departmental and committee meetings as required. Works closely with team members to foster collaboration and ensure alignment with the community’s vision and standards. Provides performance feedback, conducts evaluations, and supports professional growth among team members.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Hospitality, Sports Management, or related field; or 4–6 years of relevant experience in fitness, aquatics, or racquet sports program management. Proven success in developing and executing recreational programming.
Physical Demands:
Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, and crouches. Must regularly use hands to handle, feel, and reach, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise:
Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise levels are moderate.
Certificates and Licenses:
Preferred certifications: CPR/AED, fitness instruction certifications, and aquatic or racquet sports program certifications.
Skills and Knowledge:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to create engaging fitness, aquatics, and racquet sports programs. Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on team development and guest satisfaction
