Recreational Therapist - PACE/Elderplace

$5,000 hiring bonus for eligible external candidates that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

The Recreational Therapist provides a variety of therapeutic social, recreational and diversional events for participants. Conducts individual assessment to identify the participants' individual interests/needs. Develops and implements an appropriate variety of individual and group activities. Participates in interdisciplinary care planning. Coordinates the recreation documentation for her/his assigned group of participants.  Assists with training and supervising assigned volunteers and/or youth job program assistants/student interns and their activities. Leads facility-wide participant-centered events.

Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor's Degree - Recreation Therapy.  National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.  Washington Recreational Therapist Registration upon hire or,  National Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist - National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification upon hire if practicing within this state. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

2 years - Providing recreation with the elderly or disabled.
