Recruiting Manager
**Description** AURA's mission is to provide innovative, open resources to enable discovery and excellence in research, to unify the astrophysics communities, and to promote public understanding of our universe and the benefits of science exploration. AURA carries out its role through its astronomical facilities. **General Description of Position:** Lead, innovate, and align the recruitment division to meet the organization’s strategic workforce needs for today and the future. Develop and implement a strategic recruiting plan that fosters diversity, inclusion and accessibility throughout the recruitment process. Optimize human, technical and financial resources to ensure efficiency across all recruitment functions. Lead, inspire, develop and manage the recruiting team, ensuring alignment with the strategic and operational organizational goals and priorities. **Essential Functions:** Strategic Leadership + Design and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy that aligns with organizational goals and values. + Drive and direct all recruitment efforts to attract top-tier, diverse, and qualified candidates. + Set clear goals, benchmarks, and KPIs for the recruitment function. + Lead and optimize recruitment processes, ensuring innovative, effective practices and compliance with applicable regulations. Team Management + Lead, manage and coach the recruitment team, fostering professional and career development, high performance and engagement. + Guide the work of recruitment team ensuring strategic, effective, and efficient outcomes, linked to business objectives and client needs. + Train internal search committees and hiring managers on effective, legally compliant interview and candidate selection techniques. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) + Design and champion DEIA initiatives that build a workforce reflective of the diverse, global, and indigenous communities served. + Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to meet Affirmative Action (AA) goals outlined in the AA plan. + Develop and maintain recruiting relationships with underrepresented groups, organizations, institutions and individuals to attract, hire and retain diverse talent pools. Process Optimization and Technology + Implement and manage applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment tools, ensuring data accuracy and reporting capabilities. + Create workflows to streamline the hiring process, improve efficiency, and enhance the candidate’s experience. + Manage budget, track and measure data, develop reports, and evaluate the ROI and effectiveness of recruitment investments. Stakeholder Collaboration + Partner with HR and client groups to confirm current and future hiring needs and forecast workforce requirements. + Provide data-driven insights, research and report on recruitment trends, metrics, and outcomes. + Represent the organization at recruitment events and industry conferences to build the employer brand. Employer Branding + Partner with AURA’s employer brand staff to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation as an employer of choice. + Leverage social media platforms and marketing strategies to attract and recruit top talent. Compliance and Reporting + Ensure compliance with grant award terms, including federal government terms, conditions, and fair employment practices. + Process and track recruitment-related documentation and applications. + All AURA employees are responsible for the proper management and control of all AURA property within their work area, whether assigned to them or someone else. This responsibility includes reporting any known missing, stolen, or non-working property in their work area to their supervisor or the AURA Property Officer. + Responsible for ensuring compliance with government award terms and conditions assigned to this position or subordinates of this position as defined in the Vela Award Management system. **Other Functions:** + Other duties as assigned. **Required Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:** + Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent education and experience. + 5+ years of professional recruiting experience, with at least 2 years leading a recruitment or other related function. + Proven expertise with applicant tracking systems (ATS), preferably Workable, Microsoft Office, and relevant business, cloud-based applications. + Demonstrated deep understanding of recruiting and HR practices, preferably domestic and global. + Developed and implemented DEIA strategies, and EEO employment laws. + Exceptional communication, collaboration, coaching, client service and strategic skills; Strong work ethic and integrity. + Domestic and international travel may be required. + High emotional intelligence and strong organizational skills. **Preferred Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:** + Experience in technical and/or scientific recruiting. + International recruiting experience, including knowledge of the U.S. immigration process for work visas. + Recruiting globally, including the placement of expats. + Proficiency in Spanish is desired but not required. + Cross-cultural competency. **Physical Demands** The physical requirements described here represent those necessary to perform the essential functions of this job. Remote options may be considered for candidates in states where AURA is registered as an employer. **Salary Range:** $120,000-135,000.
