Recruitment Specialist

Summary of Position:

Attract and retain top talent to support our mission of empowering individuals and communities.

 

Responsibilities:

1) Utilize a variety of recruitment channels – including job boards, social media, and job fairs to source potential candidates.

2) Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, create job postings that effectively communicate the organizations mission, values, and job requirements.

3) Screen resumes, conduct interviews and/or coordinate interviews with hiring managers.

4) Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and universities to enhance recruitment efforts and promote SCO as an employer of choice.

5) Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs.

6) Abide by all applicable labor laws (including NYC) as it pertains to hiring practices.

7) Collaborate with HR, CPD and Hiring Manager to support employee retention.

8) Follow up with new hires 30- and 60-days post hire to ensure successful onboarding.

9) Conduct exit interviews to identify trends and areas for improvement on recruitment and retention efforts.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or related field.

- Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition or HR preferred.

- Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion with the ability to attract and retain a diverse workforce.

- Excellent communication skills

- Familiarity with HRIS and ATS (such as UKG or similar).

 

This recruiter position is a one-year opportunity created to support the establishment of our sanctuary shelters. Upon successful completion of the year, the position will transition to a full-time residential aide role with a salary of $40,000.
