The Opportunity 

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a seasonal Recycling and 
Groundskeeper Attendant to join our team at Shenandoah National Park in Luray, Virginia. As a Recycling and Groundskeeper Attendant, you will monitor our compost and recycling programs to ensure Shenandoah National Park is a leader in sustainability and that the property is presented to the highest standards and you will be responsible for ensuring the appearance and cleanliness of the grounds adhere to company standards.

Responsibilities Look after the composting program at the property, and deposit waste onto the siteOperate the mobile propane bottle recycling equipmentManage the recycling center waste, including electronic waste, universal waste, and scrap metalMonitor and record the waste entering the recycling center siteMow lawn using hand, power, or riding mower and edge around walks, flower beds, and wallsSweep walkway of debris and install lawn furnitureRake, mulch, and prune the grounds as neededTrash removal and pick up.

This position requires driving a company vehicle on a daily basis. 

Qualifications Must be at least 18 years oldMinimum of 1 year of previous experience in general maintenance or repair for commercial facility requiredMust possess a valid state driver's license with the ability to operate a vehicle with a towing trailerBasic computer skills required, including Word and ExcelExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsPrevious experience in the Environmental Sciences field preferredPhysical Requirements Manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools and paintAbility to use ladders and perform various types of manual laborAbility to lift up to 70 pounds occasionallyExposed to outdoor weather conditions in all seasonsShift Details
