The incumbent is responsible for transporting, separting and baling recyclable materials such as wood, plastic, cardboard and trash. The individual must operate tugger, forklift and baling/compacting equipment. The incumbent will also be responsible for cleaning the immediate work area and occasionally cleaning other areas of the plant.Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Daily interior cleaning of the building including emptying waste receptacles, debris and trash removal.Transport recyclable materials from disposal areas to recycling areas.Responds to customer calls using radio equipment.Must be able to operate heavy mobile equipment such as forklift, tugger and scrubber.Must be able to operate industrial equipment such as compactors and balers.COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of safe use of cleaning agents and equipment used to perform job dutiesMust be willing to work evenings or weekends (on call) in the case of an emergency.Reliable, thorough, observant, organized, flexible and courteousEffective listener and team playerUnderstand written or verbal instructions from the designated supervisorSome cleaning experience and basic mechanical knowledge is preferredPractice the necessary safety protocols and proceduresFollows through and carries out work ordersIMPORTANT EDUCATION

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to travel from floor to floor, climb stairs, and may be required to travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions. The employee may also be regularly required to remain in a stationary position (sit or stand) for 85% of the time; regularly use hands to operate office machinery and regularly required to walk, talk, and hear. The employee must be able to travel up to 5 % of the time. Travel may vary in frequency and duration. The employee must demonstrate the ability to exert up to 25 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 25pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
