Primary Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure comprising of high-end technology, wherein the accountability will include 24x7 running of Linux/Unix servers, consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value Automation and optimization of existing and prospective IT environment through scripting (Python / Bash Script) Participate in On-Call and NOC duties on periodic basis Troubleshooting on virtual servers (knowledge of vSphere / Virtual Center preferred) Monitoring daily backup and related issues (TSM would be preferred) Be able to troubleshoot servers through ILO, vCenter etc. Involvement in periodic activities as Rapid Recovery (RR), Hardware & Firmware upgrade Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). 8+ years of experience in Red Hat Linux Administration (versions 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9) 5+ years of experience in automation Skills using Chef, Ansible, Jenkins and GitHub 5+ years of experience in MySQL Database 4+ years of experience in Bash Script, Power Shell, Python (preferable) 4+ years of experience in VMWare ESX 6.5, 6.7 and 7.0 3+ years of remote work experience for a Global client/team (US, EMEA) Experience on ITIL Processes, Metrics and Measures Good troubleshooting experience Good experience in Splunk to prepare dashboard for Server health check, Patching status, Servers Config etc. Good experience in database in forms of automating manual database queries/stop/start with help of Config Management tool e.g. Ansible/Chef Good knowledge about Linux / Unix system files, boot process and run levels Good knowledge on LVM/VxVM Good knowledge about SAN/NAS concepts, setting up, multi-pathing (device mapper) & troubleshooting SAN/NAS issues from the Linux OS Working knowledge on RHEL Patching and solid knowledge on OS troubleshooting Familiar with Satellite server, Yum Servers, RPM Familiar with ticketing tools in order to track down incidents and break fix request Well versed with ITIL concepts such as Incident, Change and Problem Management Proven good written and oral communication skills Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills Proven ability to be a point-of-contact for technical questions that may arise Proven ability to improve the efficiency of the task at hand through process improvement, automation, or any other method Flexible for working in shifts and extended hours Flexible. Ability to work nights/weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Service Now automation e.g. auto change spin-up using Service Now API’ & Other Tools API’s Knowledge of Clustering Technology (Veritas cluster (VCS) or RedHat Cluster) or HACMP Technical skills: Working experience in Infrastructure Maintenance teams like Patching, Firmware upgrades, Vulnerability remediation etc. Knowledge of Splunk Query Language Soft Skills: Generally, work is self-directed and not prescribed and serves as a resource to others Worked in the healthcare industry before Proven good technical writing skills
