ReEntry Specialist
Overview Provides guidance and support to Cherokee Citizens returning to communities after incarceration and/or are experiencing barriers after being released. This includes administering needs assessments, reviewing reentry and personal action plans, employment and housing search assistance, accessing wrap-around services in communities, conducting wellness check-ins, facilitating classes, employment verifications, and other case management needs. Works closely with the entire Reentry/Justice Involved team and other partners to encourage and empower program participants to become successful members of their families and communities. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university in Social Services, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or related field; or six (6) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT An additional two (2) years of experience in a related field. Training, education, or lived experience working or participating in a program or an organization that serves individuals who are system impacted or justice-involved preferred. COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should have knowledge of Database software, Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. There are no specific vision abilities required by this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
