LAC Federal is seeking a Reference Librarian to work for a prestigious federal library in the Research Triangle Park, Raleigh, North Carolina area. The Librarian will provide high-quality reference and instruction services including literature searching, development of training material, library resources use instruction, research methodologies, and support of bibliometric research. This is a full-time, hybrid position with benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the library portion of the weekly reportConducts literature searches and organizes results in EndNoteCreates Endnote libraries for use for peer review processPrepares bibliometric reports and visualizationsConducts weekly and monthly research alertsProvides additional reference servicesDevelops classes and training materialsTeaches group and one-on-one training classesAssists with marketing of the library and other special projects. Requirements Must be ACA-accredited MLS (Master of Library Science).Master’s degree in Library Science preferably with specialized or government libraries concentrationThree (3) years of experience providing customer service in a library, educational or public service environment. Three (3) years of experience using popular software programs with ability to learn new technology, preference given to candidates with experience in manuscript management systems.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to move from place to place within the location, lifting of items weighing up to (25) pounds and occasional up to 35 pounds such as files, books, stacks of paper, and other materials.Ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork.Benefits:
