Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._ **Responsibilities:** With general direction and latitude for initiative and judgment performs routine and non- routine administrative duties to monitor and process department's referrals. Is accountable for completing all referrals in a manner compliant with University standards. The majority of referrals processed are those received by the department but also processes those prescribed by the department's providers. SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION RECEIVED: Receives minimal direction from physician, mid-level providers, department head and/or administrative officer. Is responsible for independently planning, executing and evaluating own work. Monitors and processes Clinic's referrals, completing all referrals in a manner compliant with University standards. Reviews referrals to determine if insurance authorization has been obtained, where applicable and consistent with Workers Compensation claim management. Employs multiple tracking mechanisms to ensure referral approvals and appointments are obtained timely to ensure patients are cleared for appointment prior to arrival. Uses clinic EMR to retrieve patient and claim information, progress notes and other pertinent information to be used in the referral process. Manages and processes patient intakes. Provides front desk coverage as needed.
