**The role you’ll contribute:**
The Referral Specialist is responsible to facilitate and coordinate patient care within the practice and act as a liaison between hospitals, clinical staff, health plans, providers, and patients to process referrals. The Referral Specialist will assist patients in meeting their insurance and clinical requirements to aid in speed of Physicians orders. Individual is responsible for assisting with front office operations including but not limited to scheduling, insurance verification and authorization, and maintains positive relationships with physician offices, patients, insurance companies, and facilities while conveying accurate benefit and payment details regarding all future visits. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

· Maintains an effective operational flow by communicating patients’ status to appropriate team members and keeping patient apprised by collaboration with the Physician, APP’s and Practice Manager
· Provides education as necessary to patient regarding test locations, patient portal use, and follow-up (non-clinical) actions
· Documents appropriately within the office’s designated system to ensure regulatory requirements are met
· Determine eligibility for office visits. Search for providers that are in-network with patient’s insurance if not in-network with current referring provider while also maintaining network integrity
Qualifications
**Education and Experience Required:**
· Associate’s degree and 2 years of Receptionist experience
· OR 5 years of Receptionist experience in a healthcare setting
