The Marathon Petroleum St. Paul Park Refinery is seeking highly motivated Operators to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Refinery operators at this facility perform a variety of duties. Although responsibilities vary daily, the primary responsibility of an operator is to oversee the day-to-day operations of either the tank farms or the various operating units within the refinery.Conducting periodic rounds performing the following duties:Monitoring equipment and recording readings,Making required adjustments,Troubleshooting process and equipment problems including but not limited to general equipment checks and detecting unusual operating conditions (such as noises, abnormal temperature or pressure, and leaks).Detecting and responding to process upsets and emergency situations with response activities including but not limited to firefighting, equipment isolation and evacuation. The operator is expected to be able to wear all personal protective equipment (P.P.E.) including self-contained breathing apparatus, along with the ability to participate in emergency response activities.Operators will be expected to learn refining process operations/tank farm product movements/loading operations and qualify on process/tank farm/loading jobs.Learning and working multiple jobs up to and including the console operator position (control refinery process through computer system).Working inside and outside, in differing climatic conditions, and around noises, heat, heights and equipment associated with working in and around an oil refinery.

Schedule:

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the refinery and work rotating 12-hour shifts. The refinery operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

Pay and Benefits:

Starting pay for this position is $33.89 per hour during the new hire training period with the ability to progress to $49.32 per hour, and with the earning potential of up to $53.10 per hour. These rates also receive scheduled annual pay rate increases, in addition to eligibility in an annual bonus program and a strong benefits package which includes a 7% match on a 6% 401(k) contribution and participation in a cash balance pension plan.

Qualifications:

At least 18 years of age required.A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Valid Driver's License is required.Obtaining a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) and Boiler’s License is required.Required to pass pre-employment online tests, work demonstration test, physical abilities test, and physical.  Basic math, reading, writing, and verbal skills.Basic computer skills.Ability to learn complex refinery related material.Must have the ability to climb over 75 feet.Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Anticipated start date is March/April 2025.
